New Velvet Hands has arrived!

Happy New Year from the Boo Boos – yes, we know it’s a bit late but we’ve only just felt warm enough to peep out from under our duvets now we know January is well and truly behind us. It may still be freezing, but at least now we’ve got longer days and the hope of warmer times ahead!!

Speaking of chilly weather, both Corinna and my normally dry skins go into panic mode and begin to flake and crack as soon as the thermometer hits zero. We hit back with a large dose of Body Smoother sealed in with Miracle Oil – try it – it really does leave your body moisturised for hours!

The worst victims of the cold weather however, are our hands – whether they’re de-icing the car windscreen or washing up, they’re exposed to cold, wet conditions much more than the rest of our bodies. Boo Boo September newsletter

Well the leaves are falling, the nights are drawing in and suddenly we’re pulling out jumpers from the back of our wardrobes again!! But we’re not glum at Boo Boo HQ – far from it as we’ve got loads to celebrate!! First and foremost, two of our best-selling products have been shortlisted for the Practical Parenting Awards - our wonderful Bottom Butter is shortlisted for Best Baby Skincare and Miracle Oil for Best New Mum Skincare – what good taste these judges have!! Fingers crossed and we’ll keep you posted…

We also got very excited when our fabulous Bosom Buddy made a star appearance on Irish TV show, Expose. Corinna’s mum, Mary, who lives in Donegal, called us to say she’d just seen Boo Boo on the TV and we’d had a glowing review from top Beauty Editor, Triona McCarthy. Triona told the viewers how wonderfully scented and light Bosom Buddy is, and, more importantly, how it really works. But it’s not just the experts we love to hear from – our wonderful Boo Boo customers are our most important critics and we hope to catch up with lots of you at The Baby Show in Earl’s Court next month (October 22nd to 24th). Summer is in full swing over at Boo Boo towers and we’re all in happy holiday mode. I’ve just returned from two weeks in Sicily and we all had a wonderful time, eating, drinking and taking in the sights. Of course I didn’t leave home without a good stock of Boo Boo and our Top To Toe Wash was my No. 1 essential item. Happy February 1st! Boo Boo Mummy is going down a storm! Our gift boxes are doing really well, so all the blood, sweat and tears was worth it - now it's just a case of keeping stocked up with bubble wrap and having enough hours in the day to send them all out. Onwards and upwards!

There was much excitement at Boo Boo Towers yesterday! Corinna and I went down to Leicester to see our Boo Boo Mummy labels being printed. We were really nervous!! Would our new colours look as good as we hoped? Had we made any spelling mistakes?! (our worst nightmare - despite reading the words over and over again, as ex-magazine editors we know it can happen. I once nearly got the sack when I edited Sugar Magazine and the name of an actress was spelt wrongly on the cover!!)

The funniest moment was when we had to don white coats and funny white hats to go on to the printing floor - we got the giggles (especially when Corinna tried to get the hat over her big hair!) and just couldn't stop - the print manager looked at us like we were a pair of silly schoolgirls (not far wrong except we're the wrong side of 30!)

As it happened, the labels looked better than we could have imagined - we made a couple of colours stronger here and there (I don't think the printers had ever met such a pair of fuss pots!) and then we were happy. We celebrated with a tipple or two when we got home - such a relief!! Can't wait to see what you all think - watch this space - not long now!!

Welcome to our first posting

Jennifer here (one half of the two Boo Boos!) Welcome to Boo Boo's first blog! Not being very technologically-minded (is that a word?) Corinna and I have been talking about writing a Boo Boo blog for sometime now - not realising how easy it is to do. I'm hoping that now we've started there'll be no stopping us and inbetweeen running Boo Boo we'll get to keep you all posted on all our very exciting plans!
So, as well as running our Boo Boo Baby range, the one project that rules our every waking hour (actually, sleeping too seeing as I'm constantly dreaming about lotions and potions these days) is Boo Boo Mummy. Ever since last year when we launched Baby - customers and retailers have been asking us to launch a Mummy and Mum-to-be range. After months and months of work we're almost there!
